A compact chair with adjustable seat height - that's the Baltic 2 Basic. The easy-care plastic shell is perfect for public areas such as educational establishments or coworking offices. With its actuator and optional castors, it is perfect for desk work, allowing it to adapt to the individual needs of the user. It also does not restrict their freedom of movement, promoting correct posture, and remaining comfortable even when sitting for long periods. Seat and base colours can be configured, so it is easy to fit the chair into an existing or planned interior design.

Elements that do not need our standards are processed into re-granulate and reused for the production of polypropylene seats.
Upholstered Baltic Soft Duo and Classic chairs are made using seats created during the change of granulate colours in the injection moulding machine.
Basic, Remix and Classic versions are made without upholstery staples. Fewer elements mean it is easier to reassemble and recycle the chair.
The cushion in Baltic Remix and Classic is fixed mechanically, with no need to glue it. As the foam is not glued, it is easy to separate it from the polypropylene inlay. That simplifies the recycling process.
Sustainable production – we are not indifferent to the environmental impact of our furniture, therefore we provide the essential information on the life cycle of our products through the Environmental Product Declarations (EPD).

Ontwerp

Krystian Kowalski

Krystian Kowalski werd geboren in Warschau (1982) in een artistieke familie. Hij studeerde Productontwerp aan het Royal College of Art in Londen (MA 2010) en de Faculteit Industrieel Ontwerp aan de Academie voor Schone Kunsten in Warschau (MA 2007). Hij deed professionele ervaring op toen hij werkte voor ontwerpstudio's in Warschau, Łódź en in Milaan. Bij Bellini studio paste hij een op prototypes gebaseerde methodologie toe. In de jaren 2009-2013 was hij mede-oprichter van Kompott Studio, genomineerd voor de FX International Interior Design Award (2010) voor Breakthrough Talent of the Year. Sinds 2013 leidt hij ontwerpstudio Krystian Kowalski Industrial Design. Hij werkt samen met toonaangevende meubelproducenten in het land en in het buitenland. Bij het ontwerpen streeft hij naar slimme oplossingen die het product een verfijnd en onverwacht karakter geven. Zijn creatieve proces is gebaseerd op gedragsobservaties, diepgaande analyse van trends en technologieën en het kiezen van optimale oplossingen voor het merk en het productieproces. Krystian gelooft in een alomvattende actie. Hij past geavanceerde computertechnologieën toe, aangevuld met werk met materialen. Gedurfde ideeën worden geboren in de studio met patroonwinkel en gematerialiseerd in de vorm van prototypes. Zijn werken werden niet alleen tentoongesteld in onder andere de Mint Gallery in Londen, MOCAK in Krakau en op de Triënnale in Milaan, maar ook gepubliceerd in de belangrijkste branchebladen. Voor MDD ontwierp hij de MESH sofa en de ULTRA stoel en regelde ook de tentoonstellingsstand voor de vakbeurs ORGATEC 2016. Zijn MESH-collectie werd bekroond met de iF Design Award 2017.
