Tafel Unit

Dirk Winkel has designed Unit tables to complement the Team seating collection. Minimal forms allow for a coherent arrangement of the conference room and the canteen. Their characteristics are the craftsmanship precision and industrial details in the form of cast corners. Unit tables can be configured by choosing from various shapes and sizes of the worktop. Therefore, they can match the User’s needs and the interior arrangements. Tables are available in elegant shades of the wooden veneer or in the nano-tech Fenix laminate. Spacious worktops, universal character and simple design of the Unit tables will be perfect for meetings and teamwork, as well as for dining.

Design

Dirk Winkel

Dirk Winkel is een in Berlijn gevestigde productontwerper die afstudeerde aan de Universiteit van de Kunsten (UdK) Berlijn, gevolgd door een MA in Design Products van het Royal College of Art (RCA) Londen in 2010. Hij is gespecialiseerd in verlichting en meubelontwerp en heeft gewerkt voor verschillende ontwerpers en designhuizen in Berlijn en Londen voordat hij in de zomer van 2011 zijn eigen studio in Berlijn opzette. Gedreven door het geloof in de schoonheid van formeel purisme, zijn enkele van zijn grote interesses het verkennen van het verleggen van de grenzen van massaproductietechnieken, het herdenken van licht en verlichtingsparadigma's, en het onderzoeken van nieuwe materialen en hun potentieel. Van 2012 tot 2016 gaf hij les in Technologie en Constructie in Design in de cursus Industrieel Ontwerp van de UdK Berlijn. Zijn werk is uitgelicht door Frame, DAMn, icon, Surface, Monocle, Gestalten Verlag en vele anderen en was te zien op tal van plaatsen zoals Art Basel Miami, het VitraHaus of het London Design Museum en heeft verschillende prijzen en nominaties gewonnen zoals GOOD DESIGN (Chicago Athenaeum), Swedish Design Award (Svensk Form), Designs of the Year, de German Design Award 2015 en de Editors‘ Choice Award 2016 (Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair).
